Whether you are going with friends, family, or your significant other, this is everything you need to see.

Asheville accommodates all ages and truly has something for everyone.

Aside from the activities and beautiful scenery, the weather is AMAZING. The ideal time to visit is in the spring or fall. The mountain views are incredible and the town is very quaint.

Do yourself a favor and book your trip through Expedia. We wanted to see the famously beautiful Biltmore Estate so we stayed near the property at Brookstone Lodge.

How to get to Asheville:

Asheville has a small airport that has select flights during the week. The major airport is in Charlotte, North Carolina. From Charlotte, you can rent a car and enjoy the pretty 2 hour drive to the mountains.

How to get around Asheville:

A rental car is not necessary for this town since everything is pretty close in proximity, however, it does make life a little easier at the Biltmore and getting around.

Here is itinerary that has everything you need to see in Asheville, North Carolina!

Day 1 in Asheville

Since we arrived later that evening, we went downtown and explored the downtown area. There are a variety of bars and restaurants to enjoy. First priority was food, we ate at a small dive Mexican restaurant before heading out to the bars.

  • Downtown Asheville

Brewery central in Downtown. We grabbed a couple drinks at Wicked Weed, highly recommended, because they carry a famous beer. I love when there is inside and outside seating. After a couple drinks, we were all craving a dessert, so naturally we walked over to Crave Dessert Bar.

Day 2 in Asheville

BUY your tickets in advance. Do yourself a favor and get them in advance so you can schedule your tour time and wine tasting time. A wine tasting comes with the ticket but make sure to book in advance so you can get a spot that day!

Arrive in the morning so you can beat the rush. Give yourself enough time to park and figure out the day plan.

Immediately after parking and shuttling to the site, you will walk up to the amazing view of the estate. The only access to the house is by tour so you will not have access until your designated tour time.

Luckily, there are plenty of sites to see while waiting for your tour. There are beautiful gardens to wander through when exploring the estate.

After walking around, you will need at least a glass of water……or food if you are anything like me. There is a restaurant, bakery, ice cream/coffee shop, and a food court. Be aware of your tour time because you do not want to be late.

Tours go on all day so it is very busy inside the estate. You are given a phone for the tour. As you through the estate, you will receive information and details into the lives of the ones who lived there

The tour can be as long or as short as you want, take your time because no one is rushing you.

Once we completed the tour, we made our way to the winery. Below is the blooming sunflower farm we spotted on the drive.

The Biltmore Estate is large so getting around the estate can be difficult if you are waiting on their transportation. You can drive from the estate parking to the winery. There are multiple beautiful fields to pass as you drive to the winery. Stop and take pictures, the views are amazing!

The wine tasting that is included in your Biltmore Estate ticket provides about 8 different wines to try.

After the tasting (and feeling a little tipsy), we headed next door to their small appetizer restaurant where we grabbed another drink with a side of olives.

  • Sierra Nevada Brewery

This was the BEST part of the trip. If you love drinks, live music, and good food, this is a must stop on your Asheville trip.

There is a restaurant inside of the brewery, large sitting lawn outback, drink stands, and a food cart on the brewery property.

If you have more time, I would do the distillery tour as well.

Long day to say the least between the Biltmore Estate and the Sierra Nevada Brewery.

We ate at Ichiban Hibachi Restaurant for dinner and called it a night.

Day 3 in Asheville

We loved Downtown Asheville so much that we knew we had to see it during the day.

First stop….coffee! Double D’s Coffee and Desserts was the cutest place. It was a bus coverted to a coffee shop. You ordered on the bottom level and the second level had a small sitting area. We opted for the nearby picnic tables because it was a nice day. Coffee was AMAZING and they had so many flavors of coffee syrup to chose from.

Second stop…..food! We had brunch at Tupelo Honey, which never disappoints. Chicken and waffles was delish.

After brunch, we walked around downtown Asheville and went into the shops and centers. There was a market happening downtown so we stopped and shopped around.

I begged my husband to try and find a Blue Ridge Parkway spot but we had no luck! The Blue Ridge Parkway is a scenic driving highway that has beautiful views as you drive. The Parkway goes through a couple different states so it can be difficult if you are only in Asheville trying to find it. If you have an extra day, I feel like it is worth finding…….maybe next time!

& that is everything you need to see in Asheville, North Carolina!
