This post is going to prepare you for what to pack in your work bag.

Whether you are going into the office, to a meeting, or going to a coffee shop as a remote employee, this is EXACTLY what to keep in your work bag.

I work a hybrid schedule so it never really feels like I have a home office to keep all my things. I also share an office space with my husband so I can’t even call that a home office.

SO because I am always on the go for work, I am an expert in what need to be packed in a work bag for a successful day in office, at home, or at your local coffee shop.

Let’s start with the actual work bag itself, I have gone through totes, backpacks, and laptop bags throughout my first couple years of having a corporate job. Still have yet to find the perfect work bag.

With my quarterly change of bag, I simply transfer everything from one to the next.

Here is Exactly what to Pack in your Work Bag

Laptop

Most likely, if you have a average 8-5 corporate job, you have a laptop.

If you work from home or have your own technology like a tablet or something, obviously that works too.

Obviously, this is where the magic happens and needs to be in the bag at all times.

Laptop Charger

Why do corporate laptops die so quickly???

Pack it.

Don’t be stuck in the coffee shop or office having to either leave or find someone to let you borrow the charger.

Wireless Mouse

Keyword: Wireless

A core mouse is fine, that is usually the office standard.

A wireless mouse is a game changer for the work bag, it takes up less space and is so much easier to use.

Binder

My goal this year was to invest in a nicer binder to carry my notes, lists, or corporate papers. This one is perfect, it stores EVERYTHING!

I have a standard binder that has paper inside so I can take notes, store paperwork, or have on hand for someone.

Pens

Don’t go to a meeting without a pen, don’t go to the office without a pen.

Unless you are a fully digital notetaker, keep a pen or more than one pen in your work bag.

Hot Take: I think it is rude to take digital notes in a in person meeting.

Also, you lose pens ALL THE TIME or someone borrows and you know you won’t get it back. So just do yourself a favor and keep an extra.

The best pens!!! These are at my house and at the office and of course in my work bag.

Airpods/Headphones

I never even leave the house without my airpods so you best believe they are going in my work bag.

Even if your work days are not meeting heavy, airpods are still great because you can listen to music, podcast, or an audible book while working.

Hand Sanitizer

Another travel, everyday essential that is in every location of my life.

It is good to have for the car, office, after a in person meeting, or being in a coffee shop.

Badge

Since I work in an office half the week, I always have to have my badge on me.

I never even take the badge out of the bag. I do not take it off in the car, in the house, I only take it off and put it straight in my work bag.

Chapstick

The girls who get it, get it.

A chapstick is in your car, nightstand, purse, kitchen, all the places. Why should your work back be any different?

My current favorite is a tinted one so it looks like a natural lip stain but keeps them hydrated.

Wallet

This may seem like a dumb item to list but I am always forgetting my wallet at home.

I also got tired of carrying around my purse on top of carrying a work bag. Just having the wallet , makes it so much easier!

Vending machine afternoon snack, morning coffee, or need to buy lunch…..you will need your wallet.

I was gifted a wallet keychain and it has been a game changer got my on the go days. I don’t leave the house without my keys so not my wallet is attached.

Granola Bars

I am laughing out loud that I listed it but I truly keep snacks in my work bag.

Crackers or granola bars, I need a snack.

Being a corporate girl on the go, you never know when you are going to need a little pick me up.

Energy bars are a current favorite.

Stanley Cup

40oz water bottle is the reason I get my water intake in everyday.

This thing comes everywhere with me and it can sit in the front of my bag if I button it.

Tampons

Sorry boys, but this needs to be here.

Ladies, if you know you know, tampons are in a mini bag in my work bag because you always want to be prepared.

I never take these out of my bags, even if I just ended my period.

You never want to be stuck at the office not have the products you need, or worse….having to tell your male boss that you have to leave for a “personal reason”.

& that is what to pack in your work bag to have a productive day!
