Being from Florida all my life, I have mastered what needs to be in the summer beach bag to have a successful day.
I have always loved a long day on the beach, versus my husband who is a couple hours kind of guy. My beach bag has to have activities for both of us to enjoy, beverages to sip on, and ensure it can hold all the comfortable items I need to have a great day.
I say successful because some days, it can be an unsuccessful beach day. Use this as a checklist so you are always prepared for your day in the sun!

Overpacking is necessary when heading to the beach or pool all day. This beach bag is great because it is lightweight, large enough to fit everything, and does not get ruined if it gets wet.
16 beach bag essentials
1. 2 Towels
2 Towels in your beach bag. Use the first towel for drying off or sitting in your beach chair and then use the second towel as a pillow or extra (or for your significant other or friend in case they forget their towel).
2. Stainless Steel Water Bottle
This stainless steel water bottle holds 40 ounces and keeps the water ice cold during for a long period of time. You won’t get dehydrated in the sun with this bottle!
3. Quality Sunscreen
Sunscreen…..duh, skin cancer is no joke! Bring face sunscreen and body. These should be an evergreen in the beach bag. Sunbum is the best for a tan while being protective.
4. Cover Up
Cover Up for over your bathing suit. Dresses, button ups, or throw ons are the most comfortable to throw over a bathing suit. This one is oversized and will be great to throw on after being in the salt water.
6. Comfy Sandals
Slip on Sandals. These Reefs will last all summer for walking in the sand. BONUS – they can get wet, you won’t have a problem with blisters or wearing of the shoes.
8. Sunglasses
Don’t be stuck squinting all day in the sun. These are the most chic sunglasses! Ray Ban are the ideal summertime sunglasses and truly never go out of style.
9. Hat
Having sensitive skin, it requires extra sun screen when outisde in the sun (and the UV is high). Fadora hats are so cute and cover all around the face and neck when the UV is extra intense.
10. Hair Clip
Claw Clip – These are so great to pack in your bag for going into the water or putting your hair up when it gets too hot. These are the large clips so they hold all your hair securely.
11. A Good Book
Relaxing entertainment is a must for the beach bag. This specific book is the holy grail of romance books. Reading a good book by the pool or beach is true serenity.
12. Headphones
Airpods are a classic – Podcast, music, or audiobook are the top 3 to be playing while relaxing in the sun. These are wireless too so it is easy to throw in the bag.
13. Bluetooth Speaker
This is great when going with friends or other people. JBL is the best because of the quality. It is also waterproof so you never have to worry about damage.
14. Cooler
A larger cooler bag would obviously not fit in the beach bag but you can also do a small lunch box if it is just you. This is worth bringing if it is an all day trip or multiple people are going.
Fill this up with drinks and sandwiches and you will be set for the day! Yeti never lets you down – food and drinks will be cold all day in the sun.
15. Portable Phone Charger
This is a need for the beach or pool. You never know when a phone needs a quick charge.
16. Can Koozie
These are amazing for keeping beverages cold in the heat. It can also easily distinguish which drink is yours.
